The Lalit celebrates Women Empowerment on the occasion of 70th Indian Republic Day

Development, prosperity, and progress are all co-dependent on empowerment. With sharing equal power to every section of the population, a nation can hope to achieve greatness. The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group has chosen to acknowledge the strength of our Women add a spark to the Empowerment movement this year. On January 25th all properties of The LaLiT will witness a sea of change with women and trans women from the team hoisting the tricolour.

 

The LaLiT will transform into the Republic of Women and invite others to embrace the change. The Group has invited employees, strong women leaders, acid attack survivors and inspirational trans-women to hoist the national flag across The Lalit Hotels, Palaces and Resorts. The CMD of the Group, Dr Jyotsna Suri along with Sonal Mansingh, Sharon Lowen, Nandini Azad will do the honours in New Delhi. Apsara Reddy, transgender activist and national general secretory of All India Mahila Congress will conduct the ceremony in Bangalore while Celina Jaitley in Mumbai.

 

It will be only women evening too, as the all female staff of The Lalit’s Pan-Asian fine-dining destination, OKO welcomes women journalists.

 

Chairperson and Managing Director of the Group, Dr. Jyotsna Suri, is behind this empowerment drive. “I strongly believe that an empowered soul is powerful beyond measure. At, The LaLiT we have always believed in equality, and consider it an imperative human right. We are an equal opportunity workplace and support all our employees and help them achieve merit,” she said.

 

The Group has plans to increase the women workforce to 50% in each department. Currently, 33 women hold leadership positions in the organisation, and have helped shape the Group to be a force to be reckoned with in the industry.
