National Museum and Institute of History of Art, Conservation and Museology was established in 1983. It is a Deemed University since 1989 and runs Masters and Doctoral level courses in History of Art, Art Conservation and Art restoration.
National Gallery of Modern Art showcases the work of Rabindra NathTagore, Nandalal Bose, Ramkumar Kinkar, Binod Behari Mukherjee, etc. The museum makes an effort to make sure that its quality as well as standards are not compromised. It is also an ideal platform for artists to display their work & achieve recognition and progress in the field of modern art.

National Museum: It is the largest museum in India and holds a variety of articles ranging from pre-historic era to modern works of art. Established under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, the museum is situated on the corner of Janpath and Maulana Azad Road. National Gallery of Modern Art: Former residential palace of the Maharaja of Jaipur, it is situated inside the Jaipur House, India Gate. A one of its kind institution, it has on display over 4,000 paintings, graphics, and sculptures of artists, dating back to mid 19th century. The museum showcases the evolution of Indian art. A 10 minute drive to the Central Cottage Emporium is our next stop. Central Cottage Emporium: Located in Jawahar Vyapar Bhavan at Janpath, it is undoubtedly worth a visit for anything ethnic and chic. You can shop for furniture,clothes, shoes and small gift items that could work as souvenirs. Our last stop of the day is Janpath Market which is right opposite the Central Cottage Emporium. Janpath Market: If budget shopping is your preference then a visit to Janpath is highly recommended. It is a haven for travellers and shoppers of curio, handicrafts and garments. Experience includes entrance fees,travel charges & snacks to carry. Recommended summer wear-Cotton shirt/T-shirt with bermuda's or a track suit or denims. Recommended winter wear-Full sleave Shirts/T-Shirt, jersy, trousers, accompanied by a shawl, sweater or a jacket. The Art & Craft’s Museum established in 1956, has over 20,000 objects on display. The distinctive architectural display of Indian villages and authentically constructed mud huts, adorned with folk art and tribal exhibits, such as wood carvings, paintings, paper-mache and embroidery, are some of the major attractions.

Travel in our Lalit limousine for a short drive of 10 minutes to the Art & Crafts museum behind Pragati Maidan which is home to the finest of Indian craftsmanship, following which, meet up with a tour guide at Purana Quila (Old Fort) & complete the experience with a visit to Sunder Nagar market.
Arts & Crafts Museum: It displays Indian handicrafts and offers first-hand experience of craftsmen at work. Some of the most rare and exquisite pieces of art and craft, collected from all over India, are the prized possessions of the museum. The Crafts Museum Shop in the complex is also worth visiting. The live demonstrations of producing and making of folk arts and crafts is one of the major highlights. At a short drive of 5 minutes, the Old fort (Purana Quila) stands tall, which is our second and penultimate stop of the day. Purana Quila: It was founded by the second Mughal Emperor, Humayun in 1533 and completed by Sher Shah Suri five years later. Purana Quila and its environs flourished as the sixth city of Delhi. The walls of the Fort rise to a towering height of 18 meters and run on for about 1.5 km. It has three arched gateways - the Bara Darwaza (Big Gate) facing West, which is still used today, the ‘Humayun Gate' facing South and the ‘Talaqi Gate' or forbidden gate. It is also said that the monuments’ foundation were laid by the Pandavas. Our last stop would be the Sunder Nagar market renowned for art, craft and antique retail shops, apart from being one of the most expensive and posh residential colonies of Delhi. Sunder Nagar: It is a very popular shop market for antiques and silver jewellery. It is a neat and well-designed market complex with many stores competing to sell exotic souvenirs, fine silver jewellery from Ladakh, semi-precious stones, textiles, brass, copper and silver objects d'art.
