New Year of 2010 saw the start of another tradition in Goa – The Carnival Ano Novo. Organized, by The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group to excite the residents of the region in celebrating the arrival of a new beginning – the Carnival witnessed five colorful floats, over 300 costumed folk dancers of the region, lots of music and a spectacular parade.

This was a first of its kind event not only for Goa but also India – previously, exotic venues like Miami, Dubai, Dorset (UK) to name a few, had played host to this variant of Arena Polo. The Lalit Suri Beach Exhibition Polo Goa hosted by Mrs. Jyotsna Suri, Chairperson & Managing Director of The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, saw internationally renowned Indian Polo players pit their skills against each other midst the spectacular setting of InterContinental The Lalit Goa Resort’s Raj Baga Beach.

To stimulate the youth and enhance their game of football - The Lalit Suri Football Cup was organised by the Group in association with The Lions Club of Canacona. This 7-a side inter-club tournament had elicited a huge response from the local football clubs and 14 teams had registered.  December 28th saw the first & second round matches while on December 29th after the semi final matches, the audience witnessed a striking final between Cocktails & Dreams Sporting Club and Agonda Boys.

18.Aug.2009

Hon'ble Chief Minister of J&K Shri Omar Abdullah inaugurated the event. Match was played in traditional polo style between the local polo team and the visiting team of The LaLiT with players of  international repute. Mrs Jyotsna Suri, Chairperson & Managing Director, The LaLiT Suri Hospitality Group (a Bharat Hotels enterprise) created this initiative as a long term commitment to developing the game in the region.
